How This Calculator Works
Type in your full date of birth and the full name on your birth certificate, and this page runs both calculations at once. The Life Path and Birthday come from your date, reduced digit by digit until a single number or a master number (11, 22, 33) remains. The Expression, Soul Urge and Personality come from your name, mapped through the Pythagorean letter chart below. The chart appears on your screen the moment you click Calculate, and you will not need to give an email address to see it.
Leave out a middle name and the name-based numbers will come out different. That is the single most common reason a reader writes to me saying their Expression or Soul Urge does not match what another site gave them.

What the Result Can and Cannot Tell You
The five numbers answer five different questions. Life Path is the direction your life moves you toward. Expression is what you are built to do. Soul Urge is the want underneath your visible choices, the one you don't always say out loud. Personality is the impression you make before anyone knows you. Birthday narrows down to one specific, concentrated talent.
What none of the five can do is stand in for the whole person. They describe patterns and pulls, not a fixed script. Two people can share every one of these numbers, born on the same day with names that reduce the same way, and still live nothing alike. A number names a tendency. A life is a long series of choices about what to do with it.
Where the Five Numbers Disagree
Reading all five at once matters most where they pull apart. A Life Path 7 paired with a Soul Urge 3 is a common source of the feeling "this doesn't sound like me." The Life Path 7 pushes toward solitude, analysis and a guarded distance from other people. The Soul Urge 3 wants an audience, conversation, a way to perform and be seen. Neither number is wrong. The person carries both, and most of what looks like inconsistency in a numerology reading is really two core numbers working against each other, not one number failing to describe you.
The same kind of tension shows up between the Expression and the Life Path (talent pointing one way, direction pointing another) and between the Personality and the Soul Urge (what people see first, against what you want underneath). None of these pairings cancel each other out. They sit together, and the friction between them is usually where a reader recognizes themselves the most.
A Full Example, Start to Finish
Take a reader born March 3, 1988, named Jane Marie Doe on her birth certificate.
- Life Path. Month 3, day 3, year 1988 reduces to 8 (1+9+8+8=26, 2+6=8). Adding 3+3+8 gives 14, reduced to 5.
- Expression. Every letter of Jane Marie Doe totals 55, reduced to 1.
- Soul Urge. The vowels alone (A, E, I, A, I, E, O, E) total 32, reduced to 5.
- Personality. The consonants alone total 23, reduced to 5.
- Birthday. The day of the month, 3, stands on its own.
- Maturity. Life Path 5 plus Expression 1 gives 6.
Her Life Path and Soul Urge land on the same number, 5, which usually makes a life feel more coherent than a chart where the two disagree. Her Expression, 1, sits apart from all of it. She is built to lead and start things even though her path and her wanting both run toward freedom and change. That is the kind of read a single number cannot give you.

It describes who you are growing into in the second half of life, the energy that grows more dominant from your late thirties onward. Most people notice the shift without being able to name it. Where the Five Numbers Agree
Agreement matters as much as conflict. When the Life Path and the Soul Urge land on the same number, a person tends to feel that their life fits them, because what they are moving toward and what they actually want are the same thing. When the Expression lines up with the Life Path, work feels less like a fight, because what someone is built to do matches what their life is already calling for. Reading all five together is how you catch both the friction and the fit.
Core Numbers vs Timing Numbers
The core numbers are fixed. They come from your birth date and birth name and do not change. Together they describe the permanent blueprint, who you are built to be, what you want, the impression you make, where you are headed.
The timing numbers describe where you are in your current cycle. Your Personal Year, Personal Month, and Life Path phases change each year and each month. They describe the terrain of right now, not who you are. Both matter, but they answer different questions.
